Food-Safe Finger Bandages

When cuts happen in food service, two concerns compete: protecting the wound and protecting the food. Standard adhesive bandages can fall off, contaminate food, and create health code violations.

Food Safety Requirements

Health codes typically require that wounds be covered with a waterproof bandage and glove. The bandage must stay in place through wet work, and it should be visible (often blue) so it can be found if it falls into food.

Self-Adhering Solutions

Self-adhering tape provides a secure secondary covering over wound dressings. It stays in place through wet work better than adhesive bandages, doesn't leave residue, and can be easily replaced. Used with a blue food-service bandage underneath, it meets health code requirements while providing reliable protection.
