The material
Fine cotton.
Flat layers.
Overlapping cotton layers adhere to each other. The lightweight weave follows the shape beneath it, without adhesive on fur.

Guard-Tex holds together through contact between its layers.
A non-stretch wrap
Your veterinarian can assess whether it is appropriate as an outer retention layer. It does not replace a wound dressing, padding or a prescribed compression or support product.

Follow your
vet’s plan.
Have your veterinary team choose the materials and show you how to care for the bandage. Follow their instructions for monitoring and changes.
Contact the clinic if the bandage becomes wet, dirty or displaced, or you notice swelling. Do not remove a bandage or splint unless your veterinarian instructs you to.

Can Guard-Tex be used as a dog or cat paw wrap?
Ask your veterinarian whether Guard-Tex is suitable for retaining a dressing on your dog’s or cat’s paw. They should choose the dressing, padding, wrap size and fit. Guard-Tex does not replace the wound dressing.
Is Guard-Tex a self-adhesive bandage?
Guard-Tex is self-adhering: overlapping cotton layers adhere to each other, not to fur. It is not an adhesive strip that sticks to the animal’s skin.
Is Guard-Tex the same as elastic vet wrap?
No. Guard-Tex is non-stretch cotton. It should not replace a prescribed elastic compression or support product. Ask your veterinarian which type of wrap the application requires.
Can Guard-Tex be used on a cat?
Ask your veterinarian to assess the application. Product choice, fit and monitoring depend on the animal and the condition being treated.
Does non-stretch mean a wrap cannot become too tight?
No. Any wrap can become too tight if applied incorrectly or if swelling develops. Your veterinarian should determine the bandage materials, fit and care plan.
Does Guard-Tex contain latex?
Yes. Guard-Tex contains natural rubber latex. Do not use if you or your animal has a natural rubber latex allergy.
