Gauztex → Guard-Tex

The tape continues.
One name: Guard-Tex.

The Gauztex brand is being discontinued. The same self-adhering cotton tape continues as Guard-Tex—for care kits, work and sports.

Self-adhering cotton

The same tape has been sold under Gauztex and Guard-Tex. It bonds to itself and does not stretch.

Medical and podiatry supply

Gauztex’s distribution has included medical and podiatry suppliers, alongside other consumer and professional channels.

Current Guard-Tex options

Compare the width, length and pack quantity with your previous order. A brand transition does not mean every item number stays the same.

Replacing an older order

From a 10-yard Gauztex roll to a 30-yard Guard-Tex roll.

The medical-supply examples below identify former formats. They are reference details, not a statement of current distributor stock or price.

A current 30-yard roll has three times the length of a former 10-yard roll. Width and pack quantity still need to be compared separately.

Continuing a familiar application

Securing gauze dressings.

Guard-Tex is used to hold a separate gauze dressing in place. The gauze covers the wound, while the outer wrap overlaps and sticks to itself.

Follow package directions and the clinician’s dressing instructions. Guard-Tex contains natural rubber latex.

Questions, answered.

Is Gauztex being discontinued?

The Gauztex brand is being discontinued. The same self-adhering tape continues under the Guard-Tex name.

Was Gauztex sold through medical suppliers?

Yes. Gauztex has been supplied through medical and podiatry distributors, including Chicago Medical Supply and Gill Podiatry Supply.

Is a current roll the same length as my old Gauztex roll?

Not necessarily. The legacy medical-supply examples shown in the format table contain 10 yards per roll. Current Guard-Tex rolls contain 30 yards. Compare width, roll length and pack quantity before ordering.

Are distributor item numbers unchanged?

Do not assume that they are. Distributor item numbers identify particular products and packaging. Ask your supplier or contact us to match a former Gauztex order to the current Guard-Tex format.

Can Guard-Tex secure gauze dressings?

Yes. The tape is used as an outer wrap to secure a separate gauze dressing. Follow package directions and the clinician’s dressing instructions.

Where can I buy the tape now?

Shop current Guard-Tex consumer packs or use the bulk shop for commercial quantities. Ask your distributor about its current stock and ordering options.

Does Guard-Tex contain latex?

Yes. Guard-Tex contains natural rubber latex, so it is not a latex-free tape.
