Keep finger wrap and protective equipment separate
Guard-Tex offers cut resistance, but it is not cut-proof or puncture-proof. No ANSI cut rating is claimed. It is not a chemical barrier or a substitute for required protective equipment.
Any wrap adds a layer. Check how that changes the contact between your hand and a handle; this page does not promise unchanged sensitivity, improved accuracy or a guaranteed working duration.

What is woodworking finger tape?
Finger tape is a wrap applied around selected fingers. Guard-Tex is a non-stretch cotton option whose overlapping layers adhere to one another, without a sticky backing against the skin.
Which Guard-Tex width should I choose?
The ¾-inch width is the narrower option for individual fingers. The 1½-inch width covers a broader area with each pass. Both are available through the consumer shop.
Is Guard-Tex cut-resistant?
Guard-Tex is a cut-resistant cotton finger wrap. Cut-resistant does not mean cut-proof or puncture-proof. No ANSI cut rating is claimed for Guard-Tex. Use the protective equipment required for the task.
Can Guard-Tex replace gloves for finishing?
No. Cotton finger wrap is not a chemical barrier. Follow the finish manufacturer’s handling instructions and use the protective equipment specified for the task.
Does wrapping change how a tool feels?
Any added layer changes the contact between your hand and a handle. The amount of tape and where you place it determine the added coverage and bulk; unchanged tool feel is not guaranteed.
Does Guard-Tex contain latex?
Yes. Guard-Tex contains natural latex. Its cotton construction and self-adhering behavior do not make it latex-free.
